Meet Steve

I was born in Stark County and live in Brewster, Ohio. Family and music are my passions. My dog Reagan runs my life. I take care of my 85-year-old grandmother and enjoy spending time with my family.

I was elected to Brewster Council in November 2009 where I served for eight years. Each year I was on council, we balanced our budget and received excellent audit reports from the Ohio Auditor of State with no citations or findings for recovery. I am incredibly proud of the work that our clerk-treasurer, administrator, council, and employees have done to bring about those results.

In 2014, I received my graduate certificate in government management from Walden University. That same year, I was appointed as clerk of the Stark County Board of Elections where I served the citizens of Stark County for over three years.

Currently, I serve 107 political sub-divisions across three counties at the Stark-Tuscarawas-Wayne Recycling District as the program manager.

I am currently a volunteer with Community Legal Aid where I have sat on the Outreach and Fundraising Committee since November 2017; this organization seeks to assist those who are economically and socially disadvantaged with legal assistance and advice.

In April 2018, I was appointed to The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences Wooster Sustainability Task Force. In December 2019, I was elected President of the Solid Waste Districts of Ohio, where I served for two terms.

Since December 2020, I have served as a volunteer board member of the Solid Waste Association of America Ohio Buckeye chapter.

In 2020, I was recognized by my colleagues as the Solid Waste Professional of the Year. In 2021, the Canton Chamber of Commerce and YStark! recognized me with the "20 Under 40!" award, based on my commitment to the community, leadership attributes, professional achievements, personal accomplishments, and volunteerism.

What does the Clerk of Court do?

The Massillon Clerk of Court handles the court's non-judicial, administrative tasks, such as maintaining court records, administering oaths, and authenticating documents.

Some of the duties include filing, docketing, indexing, and preserving all court pleadings for civil, criminal, and traffic cases. The Clerk also collects and disperses fines and court costs on behalf of the court.
